Kathleen Millikan
Kathleen has been practicing in various areas of litigation since being admitted to the bar in 1991 when she began her career at Patterson, Dilthey, Clay, Cranfill, Sumner and Hartzog as an associate attorney. In 1992, she continued with the firm of Patterson, Dilthey, Clay and Bryson, L.L.P, whose areas of practice included general liability defense, medical negligence defense, automobile torts, premises liability, insurance contract interpretation, and products liability. In 1995, she joined the Law Office of Leslie O. Wickham, Jr., where she provided litigation support in general liability cases, workers compensation, and estate administration. Her litigation experience includes both work in the courtroom and alternative dispute resolution.
As an undergraduate, Ms. Millikan was awarded a full academic scholarship for nursing from the Veterans Administration, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with honors in 1985 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after which she practiced nursing until entering law school in 1988. As a nurse, she cared for patients with severe head trauma and spinal cord injuries, and worked in critical care, post-surgical care, orthopedics, ENT, plastic surgery, ophthalmology and geriatrics.
Kathleen attended the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she was a member of the staff of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation. She is a member of the litigation section of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in North Carolina.
In addition to the practice of law, Kathleen is active as a community, church and school volunteer. She and her husband, Alan, are co-owners of Aegis Home Care, LLC, which provides in-home personal attendant care for those in need. They have two boys.
