Daniel Gaylord is a partner with the firm who has significant litigation and trial experience. Mr. Gaylord’s areas of practice include personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, commercial and business llitigation, property damage, contract law, insurance law, premises liability, product liability, and other aspects of general liability litigation. He has handled numerous civil cases over the years that have resulted in favorable jury verdicts, arbitration decisions and mediated settlements.

Mr. Gaylord began his legal career at the regional law firm of Patterson, Dilthey, Clay & Bryson, where he was a partner with a civil litigation practice. He has lectured paralegals and attorneys on civil litigation topics, with a focus on the discovery process and trial evidence. He has been a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the Defense Research Institute, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake County Bar Association. Mr. Gaylord participates in a significant amount of alternative dispute resolution that includes representing his clients in mediations and arbitrations. He also serves as an arbitrator in various civil cases in an effort to assist other parties and attorneys in resolving their disputes.

Mr. Gaylord received his Juris Doctor from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, where he graduated Cum Laude and in the top 10 of his class. While at Campbell, Mr. Gaylord was the research editor of the Campbell Law Review and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society. His civil trial advocacy team at Campbell earned a regional championship and advanced to the national finals where they finished second in the nation. He also competed in a national moot court competition, where his team finished sixth in the nation. Due to Mr. Gaylord's trial advocacy achievements, he was inducted into the Order of Barristers.

Mr. Gaylord received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990. He was active in many charitable, academic and social activities during his four year adventure in Chapel Hill. He was also selected for an exclusive project where he traveled the state of North Carolina to perform an oral history of the cotton mill industry. Prior to his admission into law school, he worked in product management, marketing and sales.

Daniel grew up in Nash County, North Carolina where he was Student Body President of Northern Nash Senior High School and State President of the National Honor Society. His wife, Laura, is a Veterinarian who practices small animal medicine. He is also blessed with a daughter. Daniel loves his Tar Heels, the beach, long walks, and movies, but most of all, he enjoys his time with his wife, daughter and family.
